| IDT Asia Rolls Out Feature-Rich International Calling Service for Local SME's |
 |
Hong Kong, August 6, 2007 - IDT Asia, the regional operation of IDT Telecom,
today announced the launch of its IDT1529 Business IDD Service - an international direct dialling service specially tailored for small-to-medium enterprises (SME's). IDT Telecom is a subsidiary of IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT, IDT.C), an international telecommunications and technology company.
More than 80 percent of local companies in Hong Kong are classified as SME's. IDT's new IDT1529 Business IDD Service is designed to help SME's control operational costs while maintaining a high level of service. SME's can benefit from a host of innovative and unique features including online billing and call record tracking, 24/7 transparent pricing structure and account-linked calling cards for overseas use. SME's can enjoy all these key features as well as a sign-up credit for free international calling minutes when they register online at www.idtasia.net.
IDT Telecom carries more than 20 billion minutes of international calls each year on its global fibre backbone network, with switching centres on 4 continents linked to over 450 fixed and mobile telecoms operators.
"Our goal in introducing IDT1529 IDD Service for businesses is to help various industry segments in Hong Kong improve the way they communicate with their customers and business associates," said Chip Barton, Managing Director of IDT Asia. "To differentiate our offerings, we carefully analyzed market trends and studied user needs before designing this new service. We are very excited to launch IDT1529 Business IDD Service, which is especially targeted for the SME community. This service will allow SME's to experience premier call quality at competitive rates with easy online account management and no worries about minimum contract terms."
Statistics from the Hong Kong Government show that the territory's total international telephone traffic had annual growth rate (AGR) of 8.8% between 2001 and 2005, reaching 7.8 billion calling minutes. A substantial portion of these are calls made by SME's to their business partners in commercial centres around the globe. Understanding the need for SME's to have better control of their IDD costs, IDT's online system allows customers to view information such as invoices, calling records, and other relevant data at the click of a mouse, without the need for any specialized telecom knowledge.
One of the first local companies to test and sign up for the IDT1529 Business IDD
Service is The Red Flag Group, an Asia Pacific based Ethics & Compliance
consultancy. "We regularly communicate with our partners in Asian countries as well as European countries and the US. The IDT1529 Business IDD Service has both
reduced our costs and made them much more predictable. Also, the ability to
administer our account online gives us the control we require for more effective
management of our costs and communications," said Mr. Scott Lane, CEO of The
Red Flag Group. "As we grow in the future, the service will play a key role in
addressing our communication and business requirements."
Registering online is simple and swift, and there are several payment options
available to enterprises. SME's can register any number of business fixed lines, fax and mobile phone numbers to maximize their savings and simplify calling.
Customers can also register by calling IDT's customer service number at 2159 9090.
For SME executives who frequently travel, IDT Asia has also launched the IDT1529
Global Calling Card, which companies receive when they subscribe to the IDT1529
Business IDD Service. The Global Calling Card provides simplified calling and cost-effective rates when calling from most of the main overseas destinations for Hong Kong business travellers. This allows them to avoid mobile roaming charges or expensive hotel call rates. All calls made using the card are consolidated into the company's IDT1529 Business IDD Service monthly statement for easy cost-management. |
